In the interview with Remedy, which was updated to this site on June 14 claimed that there would be wildlife, and may be threatening depending on who you ask. I didn't see any signs of wildlife in any of the trailers, not even birds, and does anyone know what he meant by " wild life, yes; threatening, depends on who you ask?"

I'm going to assume all that sort of stuff (wildlife, NPC's etc) will be added at a later date.

As for the "wild life, yes; threatening, depends on who you ask?" comment it probably means some people may find certain animals threatening when others may not (eg some people are afraid of spiders and others arn't).

actually there were birds in the newest trailer, I think its right at the very beginning. Just look at the sky :)

but yeah, Alan Wake NEEDS plenty of wildlife/insects/lizards/plants etc if it wants to make the enviroment as detailed and as believable as possible.

Those weren't birds ;) Those were leaves.

Haha. :)
I hope there's a real rich variety of flora and fauna to see.

heh, those were leaves? seem pretty high up in the air to me :)

but I'll concede that I don't really know what they are, they appear to be moving like birds do.

Maybe at night time, if you came near the area where you killed the deer, you might see its ghost or something, or maybe you could see its foot steps running through the grass, but there was no deer to be seen. Just some cool ideas.

That comment may mean that wildlife cannot attack, because he probably would have worded it this way: Wild life, yes; threatening and non-threatening. So there will probably be animals that don't attack, but may be threatening in a mental sense, depending on the fears of an individual person.

There could very likely be dogs, since some people fear them as threatening, and others don't.

Maybe if you eat cheese before it goes dark, Alan Wake gets nightmares and a bad stomach. ;)

ummmm ook, i don't know about that cheese thing, but anyway, i think that if you go deep into some forests that you should encounter bears or foxes? i mean i live in washington and have seen plenty.

What's with you and your stupid obsession with cheese? Don't waste posts on nonsense. Monkeys and Cheese! What ever... :o

it would be cool to shoot down a deer or a owl every now and then

I would like to run a deer over in a car at night time. I would be driving down the road with my headlights on. I see a deer leap onto the road from the woods on the left for a split second, but it is too late. Clunk!!! Now Alan's windshield on his car is cracked with blood stained on the front.

it would be awesome of that was really in the final game...realistic car damages and all...i think this is WAY possible in the next gen systems judging on the tech demos they showed at E3

I just realized that I haven't heard of a single game using detailed insects. Such as butterflies, maggots, flies, mosquitos, crickets, spiders, caterpillars, etc. I wonder if Remedy could add in those along with wildlife, it would make a huge difference in immersion.

actually i read in an interview (in this site somewhere) a guy from remedy answering a question saying something along the line of "vehicles will be an integral part of the game"

i need to find it again....i hope i wasn't just hallucinating this stuff, boy would that be embarrassing or what....

There will be vehicles in Alan Wake. that's final, check the trailer and the screen shots.

regarding the wildlife, I hope remedy will do it, this time they have a huge ammount of computing power to use, Next gen consoles will rock, and this kind of details is a must in this kind of games
