The title of this video is a bit of a misnomer, but it's a very interesting find, plus some comentary on the subject:

Now, let's get the creationists in this corner, and the evolutionists in that corner, and...

GO!

Edit:

Just to clerify, they state in the video that Ida is an ancestor OF humans... I don't quite know about that, but definately an ancient relative.

Edit again:

I checked out a favorite YouTuber of mine, AronRa, an archeologist, and while he hasn't made a video on the subject, he had this to say:

"I will make a vid about Ida as soon as I have a moment to do so. But for right now I want to go on record now to log my complaints against the media for their way over-the-top hype and their misleading spins. For example, since Ida is not an ape nor even a monkey, then she could hardly be a link between humans and apes, despite the claims of many webnews sources. Also many of these overblown stories imply that humans evolved directly from her, as we either skipped every other evolutionary stage, or that we passed those stages alongside other anthropoids/apes as if we didn't share any ancestors with them. They never said these things, but they were certainly implied."

What does everybody think?
