I would like to know if you have plans to put hands on the source to make the game a little more modern.
I am the first that want to leave the game as is (I really enjoyed it a lot in the past, and so last evening!), but I think a little minor improvements shouldn't harm.
Here what I would like to suggest (options could be alternative):
- Toggle full screen mode/window mode
- Graphic filtering like dosbox or scummvm ones (2xsaa, supereagle etc...)
- Ingame resolution higher than 320x200. Without redraw anything, you could use the same background image (the track and the 3d objects) and let player see more map.
- Track Editors / Mods

I know these features are out of the scope of this release, but I think with very little effort you could make this game even more enjoyable.

Just my two cents.

Road to hell is paved with good intentions =)

One of the first decisions that was made in this project was to keep the game as close to the original as possible. I (like anyone) have thought of a bunch of "improvements" that would be easy to do and would not change the game.. much.. but I think it's better this way.

New and Improved version would be a totally different project, and drawing the line where "small tweaks" end is impossible.

- Toggle full screen mode/window mode

Alt-Enter. It's in the readme.

I think that will change the gameplay, the challenge of the game... =/

You do *not* want to see the track editor for Death Rally. There are still tormented souls circling about the office moaning about it and if you mention the tool's real name you will be haunted forever :D

There's bilinear filtering for the 320x200 mode. F12. I think it doesn't look better, but that's a matter of opinion, that's why the toggle is there.

Seeing more of the track would totally change gameplay balance.

Since I have played Death Rally, I have wondered if there was a way to see more of the track on the screen.

When using DOSBox, I was finally able to obtain screen captures of the outline of each track shown right before a race begins.

I have been interested in seeing a larger track image in each screen because such detail would make recreating Death Rally tracks for Car Wars, Speed Rally, Rush N' Crush and other automotive combat board games easier.

- Track Editors / Mods

That's what I desire most! We have just Doomfrost's mod at the moment... I want to see more! I am thinking about a track set in Duke3D E1M1, Hollywood Holocaust... It would be freakin' awesome! And what about a Career Mode where you can continue with the Adversary's car... Sorry about the spam! Let me dream a bit! :D

The only thing I would like is to play Death Rally over LAN. Career Mode (like Single Player) would be fantastic. But first at all I am very glad to play it now under Windows! :)
