I would rather see the full game first, knowing that I will be buying Alan Wake with no hesitation.

Well, that be your call. But handing out a demo for people that might not be as interessed as many of us to gain their interest might not be such a bad idea.

It would probably come after the release of the game, similar to what happened with the Max Payne games.

Yeah, just wait for the full game, hopefully they will have it on display E3 next year :) or even GDC, I will be going to both :)

god! do we really expect to wait another year for this thing? it looks so good already. theres no way it could take that long!

It's very early on and I don't see it getting released any earlier then E3 2006.

I'm not sure about a demo, though. For a game world that is apparently so large and detailed, designing something for a demonstration would either have to be a smaller mini game world or the entire game world with only one or two things to do.
