i level design as a hobby, (and hope to be a professional one ones) and therefore i'm very interested in the level designing part of this new game. could you maybe a explain a bit more about this. witch game editor is used, or is a new editor made from scratch? it seems that the maps are huge, and when i understand it correctly, than there are no borders is the map. like normally is the case when you use a GTK-Radiant, Worldcraft or Hammer version (editors) or even the older building machines that where used for the older games like shadow warrior and duke nukem etc. always is the map made in box so that the entities don't touch the void around the map what will cause leaks. but looking at the short demo it seems that the map are endless, or is this not the case. and than there is the lightning, hl2 has great dynamic lightning, but what i did see in the demo i never have seen before in a game. and believe me, i have nearly seen them all.

so, would really like to hear/learn more about it.
thanks for now,
leon

From what we know, Remedy has built the engine and all their tools from scratch with a few parts licenced from other sources (which will make it a little difficult to release completely). The map does have borders, but it will be in the form of natural formations such as mountains or rivers.
