We're all waiting for AW to come out, but in the meantime...post the best freeware games you've played! That way the wait might seem a bit shorter, while we're trying out the games posted here! ;)

N (http://www.harveycartel.org/metanet/downloads.html)
Guide a ninja through levels collecting money and trying to dodge the crazy security measures. 2D puzzle-platformer. Real addicting, fun, humorous and challenging as well. I recommend at least trying this one, it rocks!
Screenshot (http://www.harveycartel.org/metanet/n_screenshots/n-21.jpg)
The graphics actually suit the game pretty well..even though they're not absolutely gorgeous.
Dircet download [PC] 1.3MB (http://www.harveycartel.org/metanet/n_v1pc.zip) there're versions for other platforms as well.

These days, I'm playing SNES and N64 games on Emulators. Well, since the platforms and games have pretty much died out when it comes to consoles, I'd call the emulators and the roms pretty much freeware. :p

That's pretty much how I think as well.
Final Fantasy series is good. As is Chrono Trigger. Both for SNES. Well, Super Metroid is also entertaining.

N and both 5 Days A Stranger and the sequel 7 Days A Skeptic were great. As for me, I used to love Generally (too lazy to find a link), real fine freeware racing game, you can make your own tracks and its up to 6(!) players on one computer, just find a way to cram all the hands on the keyboard, great party fun. You should also check out acid-play.com, lots of freeware games there.

I've also played it. Very good! Though, it does kinda need more than one player for maximum entertainment...I played it with my brother a lot a while ago. We had lost of fun :)

Whoaa...you should try Andventure Game Studio! It's a great "point and click" game maker...with an easy script editor. ;)

Why dont make a andventure game based on the Max Payne story??? :D

There's a neat little game called "Bugatron," which is basically a 3D version of Galaga. You can get it off of Shareware.

http://www.fasco-csc.com/index_e.php -- Crimson Room series - great puzzle adventure games.

http://deathball.net/notpron/notpron.htm -- Massive, and very difficult web-page based puzzle game.

http://www.sticky.tv/game/cyrkam_airtos/ -- Chuck paper at a bin -- simple idea, but one of the most addictive flash games I've played.

http://www.2atoms.com/game/play/neave_pacman.htm -- Excellent flash version of Pacman

http://www.yetisports.org/en/download_games.php -- Yeti sports

http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/254456 - Dad n' me -- well made scrolling beat 'em up

http://www.freelunchdesign.com/games.php -- Icy Tower -- great platformer, very addictive

A full 3D MMORPG, Free2Play.

http://www.ruff-rose.com
For those of you that know what ROSE Online is, this is a version based upon the old iROSE. The only difference is that the drop rate is way higher, and 3x exp is on at all times. So you level faster, and find items & equips to sell and get rich all the time. :D

"Penumbra uses our in-house develop 3D engine, featuring the latest graphics and physics technologies. Thanks to these technologies Penumbra is able to immerse players into it's world of horror, unlike anything seen before within the genre."

http://frictionalgames.com/penumbra/

You should try this first person 3D horror/mystery freeware game.
First i noticed, that atmosphere of the game are great, pretty good graphic and physics give game a touch of realism.
Game used Motion blur, noise filters and bloom, they give a VERY scary and realistic feeling.
Anyway, when first enemy appeared,i disappointed and maybe, you too.
There is NO battle-system in game! You can only use dynamite, but that's it all.
You should still try it,maybe you can get it more, than i do.
Very good for amateur made game.

Drawn lines and see your character slide them. Lines drawn from left to write are physical, from right to left are details. Watch the videos if you doubt about the power of this game.

I was trying this out the other day, and I have to admitt, it was somewhat interesting. As just a showoff trial, it has its limits, but I can only imagine what they can do if they really pursue the kind of atmosphere they have in this game and make a real one out of it (yes, I did notice them selling a retail, but it's still not a serious release).

I'll definitively be watching their website to see how it goes.

What you thought the game's battle? Quite poor,or what you think?

Kahr
11-08-2006, 07:40 PM
Yes, I didn't like the battle very much. Actually, I made some mistakes in the first battle. I tried barring the door when the first monster came, but that was a mistake. So when I tried dodging it enough to throw a dynamite on the little creep, it killed me. The dynamite blew up too slowly. :nono:

It would have been better if they just implemented a better battle system, like more of a real FPS with perhaps weapons and such. Or at least better ways of defeating those creeps. Poor ammunition is a trick that makes a game a whole lot more stressing than ammunition enough to feed an entire army. But this is overkill. Slow-ass dynamites that blow up half an hour after you threw it away? Come on!

Uhm, no matter how much you twist and turn it, it'd still be "the" graphic of this game. :p

If I remember correctly, thy is another term for "your". Like "thy sword - your sword". But, I could be blabbering utterly out of the blue her. On the other hand, I've also seen "thine" to describe "your". Okay now I'm confused. But I'm still pretty sure thy is used as your.
Allow me to use a quote:

"My fist is the Divine Breath. Blossom, O' fallen seed, and draw upon thy hidden powers. Grant unto thee the power of the glorious Mother of Destruction." - Grahf, Xenogears.

Looks like it's meant to be "your hidden powers".

No matter, the game is GEEEEEWD!

Only managed to gather up 10 points before I died though. :nono:
