Who else thought that text representing objects of reality was brilliant? I'm certain it was metaphorical for the world that Alan had created with his pen (envisaged these objects and described them in words to create)!
Remedy, did programming or mathematics perhaps inspire this conception for being an underlying natural language, akin to the artificiality of word derived from imagination?

I definitely thought it was brilliant. Given how it was described by Alan in the manuscript, I would love to see it through someone else's eyes (especially the Andersons'!):
The Dark Place
The dark place I found myself in was unlike anything I could ever have imagined; it wasn't solid, it flowed. The was conceptual and subjective.
For someone else, an artist in another field, it would have been very different. I could sense the story of the manuscript all around me, the words and ideas floating in the air, poised to become real.

I was thinking of what the dark place would be like for other artists, and when I was thinking about painters, I couldn't help but remember the bit in Oblivion where you go inside someone's oil painting :D

I loved that level, but it was so buggy.

Yes, the words to reality nightmare scene was fun though I when playing it I wished it was expanded on since there were so few words and the nightmare area was rather short and surprisingly harmless.
Though the concept is being delved into even deeper with the DLC so excited~

That was probably one of the coolest moments in a game. Myself being a writer it was really awesome to see the idea (in writing) become reality with the sound of the typewriter in the background. Gave me chills!

Not really, although you could certainly take the concept in that direction as well. Mostly, it served two purposes for us: it presented the nature of the Dark Place very well, and it also presented the idea that Wake's writing is an act of creation in very concrete terms.
The latter part was very important to us, because it's a big element in the game, but of course it's very hard to make writing a meaningful action in a video game. "Press X to write a novel," you know? So we had to find another way, and I think it worked out pretty well.

Whoever envisaged this representation of the writing in reality did it brilliantly- I loved it. :) Thank you for doing so well with it.
