Hey everyone.

I recently completed Alan Wake, and thought it was great. I'm just a bit confused about the overall story. Reason is, I stopped playing half-way through and when I started to play it again, I wasn't really sure about some of the characters, such as Thomas Zane and the Anderson Brothers.

I continued on with it anyway, and seeing as 'The Signal' DLC came out today, I didn't want to play it yet until I fully understood everything in the story. Could anyone briefly explain the story of Alan Wake? I found the ending pretty confusing and just need some clearing up on some things. :)

He was Barbara Jagger lover.They lived in the Bird Leg cabin in the 70's.When Barbara drowned, he tried wrote her back, but he made a mistake.He wrote a happy ending to the hororr story.Barbara become a face of the Darkness, and Zane trapped in the Dark place.Now he helps Alan to fight against the Darkness.And maybe he is Alan father.

The lake is the key. The lake has a special power and made it true.In the bottom of the lake, where is the Darkness 'live'.

Sorry for all the questions!

So the Darkness has always lived at the bottom of the lake, and Zane knew this? So he wrote her back and it basically went wrong.

Okay, the other part I really don't understand is the ending, with the woman from the shop and the police man standing behind her?

Rose (woman from the shop) the new Lady of the Light.Nightingale (police man) is the face of the Darkness.

They have some kinda connection to Zane in the 70's. And they wrote a song about Zane and Jagger.

Didn't he write Jagger back but Jagger came back without a heart so he wrote himself out of existence(except for the clicker)?

I am starting to lean more and more towards Alan Wake being a Thomas Zane or perhaps even himself in a story he wrote trying to fix everything. There are so many layers and not even "The Writer" might answer everything.

In the "The Signal" Barry says : "Zane Is here for ages". So i think Zane in the Dark place too.But im not sure for 100 percent.And i think Tom cut out Brabaras heart.
