How can i Re-collect the coffee thermoses?

I've found 99, but one is lost to me and i've tried going back through the game with a guide several times and nothing.


I think maybe it glitched or something and would like to re do it from scratch, but even if i delete my wake file from the HDD it doesn't seem to let me. Any help? I could just be retarded.

It is not possible to restart your thermos collection from scratch, short of creating a new Gamertag.

I think though you are missing the same one as I was. Umm.. it is such a long time ago, but it is near the end, I think a little bit before the Anderson farm-house, when you are driving through the fields, and a little bit before you have to leave your car. There is a huge field, a hill up and on the hill is a watch tower. The thermos is down on the field, near a old busted tractor.

I recommend the guide on youtube! There's one that shows the exact locations better than any guide in text and image format. If you can, watch it at the same time and play through the game, that's how I did mine.

If you seriously wish to restart your entire game, "from scratch," follow these steps.

1. Turn on your Xbox 360 console

2. Go to "My Xbox" and scroll to System Settings

3. In System Settings click "Memory"

4. Select the memory device where you have your "Alan Wake" save

5. Go to the "Games" folder

6. Scroll down until you find "Alan Wake"

7. Select "Alan Wake" and you will be directed to another page

8. On this page, you have three options
-Move
-Copy
-Delete
(You may want to copy your save and paste it in a memory drive)

9. Select Delete, it will completely erase your Alan Wake save...Along with your Achievements.

If you saved it to an external memory device, you can always copy it back into your HDD, but other than that, that's how to totally wipe the slate clean.

If not, I'm wrong and you'll just have to find that thermos. If possible.

You are wrong, I'm afraid. For some reason, Alan Wake saves game progress direct to your gamer profile as opposed to a standard save file. This means, as someone already said, your progress cannot be erased. If you want to start again, you need to make a new profile.

Well, the only option is to watch all the videos in youtube to locate them all. You'll need your memory to find which is currently missing.

A while ago, I did this method. When I finished the Normal and the Nightmare Versions, I did go to collect all of them through youtube with my memory as the guide.

If you see that a thermos is indeed missing, and of course all of the thermoses are missing from your collection, then it's a glitch...

I see. That's not normal, so I assumed that you could just erase it, thanks for pointing it out though. :D
