I keep getting stuck on the control scheme --- when "steering," my finger keeps moving off the circle ... Is there an update for this with a better/different scheme?

Yes our next update (v1.2) which should be out very very soon has a set of new controls in addition to the current ones, so you can choose which ones suit you best. :)

Ok, I guess you're not interested in fact that only 2 tracks are playable for me. I've been waiting long for any kind of response ("acknowledged" would be enough), now I'm lowering rating in App Store with accoring comment.

Sorry, I looked at the shots earlier and didn't really understand what is happening here. We haven't seen or heard about this kind of problem with anyone else, and I can't reproduce it.

Maybe the updated controls in the next version work for you better?

I have found it's not related with U-turns directly. It happenes there often 'cause steering is more intensive there. If you accidentally move your finger out of the joystick circle, joystick goes back to the center but wheels remains steered, as shown on that screenshot. It takes several moves left and right to get it back, during which you're probably loose the race. It's happening in #2 update too.

Have you tried the arrow based controls in update #2 at all? It's available in the options.

Yeah, I'm using arrows 'till update, there's not a single problem with them. But joystick was more intuitive for me. Put the finger in the midle and move it left or right is (at least for me) much more comfortable then tapping fixed arrows.

It would be great for me to get joystick working better. I mean to force him to steer even when my finger gets outta circle in the direction where my finger is (and not where it was when it left that circle) AND to stop steering when I fully release it.

My english is very bad, I know. If you wouldn't understand what I mean again, then I'm gonna make a comic book about it :D
