I want to express my gratitude to Remedy for making this awesome game. It has it's flaws, but hey, so does Alan and we all still love him. :D
Even though you marketed AN as a stand-alone experience, I think it had some serious fan-service in it and I'm thankful for that. Especially the manuscripts about Alice and Barry were heart warming. Love and friendship. That's what the world needs.
Best spent 1200 points in ages.

Here here. American Nightmare is absolutely astonishing and fantastic. I've got to say thankyou to all the people at Remedy for creating such an enjoyable experience. Even though it is a purely digital bite sized product in comparison to the title that came before, it still has the depth, intrigue and integrity of Alan Wake.

I just finished American Nightmare and I love it just like the original game!
Remedy has the special talent to create an atmosphere that just drags you in.
Every aspect of the game is so well crafted and the attention to detail is fantastic.
I love how the bushes sway in the wind and how the headlights of parked cars create beautiful reflections on the screen when you look at them and how the sound of the radio changes when you walk away from it and then leave the building it's situated in, in Chapter 3.
These are tiny details that aren't even relevant for the game itself, but it makes me wander around the levels aimlessly to discover new details.
The gameplay is relatively simple yet addicting. It's such a great feeling to dodge an attack at the last moment when you are surrounded by enemies, then fire up a flare and take them out afterwards.
All of that plus the great voice acting and writing makes Alan Wake one of my most favourite game series of all time.
Thank you so much for this amazing experience, Remedy!

I finished the game last night. Found myself procrastinating in-game as I neared the end, searching for manuscripts and generally ferreting around the environments, because I didn't want it to be over. I think that means I really liked it.
Some appreciation:
I liked some of the new additions to the game, such as being able to initiate dialogue with characters. I liked the bird men enemies, well I say liked, they were very creepy and scared me a bit thus doing their job very well. Also, very much appreciated making Alan run for his life during the combo of Kasabian and flaming satalite induced chaos.
Overall, really enjoyed the game. Thanks Remedy! :)

The setting is great. You guys nailed it. It feels just like a pulp horror film, as AW felt just like a Stephen King/Twin Peaks thriller.
Gameplay is fantastic, voice acting is good, and when it gets a little cheesy, I remind myself that the game is based on ONE OF THE CHEESIEST GENRES OF FILM, EVER. Some reviews said it lost it's atmosphere, and yes, it lost it's OLD atmosphere, in favor of a new one, based on something completely different, all for this new spin-off game. Great, just great.
You guys said if people love this setting, you'll do more. Well I love this setting, and I would certainly buy more. Whoever agrees should speak up.

It's probably the best 15 dollars I've spent in my whole life. I wholly enjoyed American Nightmare, and the raw scope and setting had me overwhelmed with excitement.
Not to mention my crazy enthusiasm for the "Old Gods of Asgard" track. More! We need more! :)

Ok, I don't dare to even google 'Alan Wake' for fear of spoilers, let alone come on the forum!, so, basically I'm on here with my blinkers on and fingers in my ears singing la-la-la-la-la so I'm ok. Just had to say I am loving the American Nightmare so far. Same 'cacking-my pants' scares and tension, slightly lovelier graphics and the weapon arsenal is great fun. Reckon I'm about half way through the game and don't want it to end. Please keep the franchise going if this is what you are serving up Remedy! Money well spent.

I wasn't expecting too much from this game but it succeeded to suprise me positively. Although AWAN's gameplay was ok and action and low difficulty slightly weakened atmosphere, I loved how they built the story . It was certainly worth playing.

Alan Wake's American Nightmare is most likely my favorite game on my downloadable catalog (that's compared to 30+ games not including trials of course:p) I simply LOVED this game so much that I was conflicted with waiting for the inevitable 800 microsoft point drop then I thought about Remedy and told myself:get. game. NOW!)
That was crazy up there;) but seriously this is amazing for 15$. If this had co-op Fight Till Dawn I would have gladly payed 60$ for this. (and a slightly extended story and new Fight Till Dawn maps)
Thanks again Remedy:love:

I've got a week off from the army with a broken rib, so I've spent the last three days as a couch potato fiddling around in the dark place. I've got to say it's been a great ride so far. I love the atmosphere and the action plays out better than ever before. The time loop was such a cool feature, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like it in a videogame. Now I'm going to round myself up with some good ol' arcade action in Fight till dawn

I have to be honest... it is a bit of a disappointment for me.
So yeah, I have no business in this thread.

Zelda: Majoras Mask for the good ol' N64 also had something like that.
But yes, i dont think we saw this feature in the last 10 yrs and its totally great!
