Get ready for spoilers:

So at the end of Episode 6: Departure, Mr. Scratch is said that he'll go back to the real world and meet Alan's friends.

American Nightmare is a stand alone experience that (apparently) doesn't reflect on the main stories of the main game.

So why did you choose Mr Scratch? I mean when people who don't play American Nightmare (but have Alan Wake) play the next "main game", they're gonna be like: What? What about Mr Scratch?

Cause... you know.... he dead... although.... could it all of been a dream like they said and he never really died, and that Mr. Scratch was just a doppelganger of the doppelganger that actually ALAN created in his mind because be BELIEVED he was dark.......?

I'd say there's plenty wiggle room as far as the interpretation of this story goes. I can't imagine them not having plans for Scratch in an official sequel.

In short: don't worry. ;)

Well, it's their on fault if thy don't play AWAN :P

I rather think that the meaning of Mr. Scratch is not clear for people who haven't played Alan Wake. For them it's probably just a seemingly random enemy, since they don't understand the whole context with Zane etc. (unless they've read all the manuscript pages).

In general, I think that the things happening in AWAN don't really influence the "real" world. After all, it's just a TV episode in Alan's subconscious mind, right? And Zane (or whatever is in the Dark Place) can probably create just another Mr. Scratch.

i think and remember this is a very loose interpretation/speculation that no one remembers mr.scratch except Alan.

In AWAN Alan even says that the dark place has odd effects on memory and time. Personally I think it's quite possible that this will be easily explained in AW 2

Remember in the second DLC when Alan's walking across the bridge and talking to Zane? He asks Zane, "So that other me is also part of my mind?" or something like that.

Then Zane says, "No. No Alan he's not. He's---" and then it cuts off. This is Mr Scratch they're talking about right?

That's not quite how it goes. Zane is talking about how the version of himself Wake is seeing in the TVs in the Writer is a part of Wake. Wake asks if Mr. Scratch is also a part of him, and Zane says "no," and then shuts up.
