So annoying! All I need to get all achievements is 100,000 points in a game one. I have had 4 gams in a row at about 98,000!! Just got clipped by a bloody grenade with 2 seconds left on the last one!! I got all stars on nightmare etc but not this. Not played much but in top 500 on leaderboard from always getting high scores just not 100k!!! Damn u.

its really not that hard. You just have to be cautious and keep that multiplier going

If it were that easy I wouldn't be ranked in top 1000 out of 50000 on the maps. It requires not to be hit in ten minutes. Which I have done 4 goes in a row, just somehow managed to get hit each time pretty much as the timer runs out.

I can't even get 3 stars or past the oil field so I don't know what you lot are moaning about!! :)

I have managed to get 3 stars on nightmare a few times. It is not a relaxing experience I tell u.

I'm not exactly skilled at the arcade mode so i'm always pleased when I manage at least two stars! Haven't got three yet. I've never been that great at point scoring in games; doesn't stop me trying though :)

Arcade mode is a blast. Better than I had hoped and incredibly addictive. I finally started playing it yesterday. I kept saying "just one more time" about ten times. I enjoy the challenge.

At first I thought: cool feature for those who want it.

Some people ranted against it for just being there, my thoughts would just be "if they want to put in extra stuff, heck, very much pleased sir thank you very much!" even if it's not to my liking.

What hurt can it do to just be there? It wasn't required, nobody really asked for it, all we wanted was more wake. + there could really be people out there loving that kind of thing.

So Wake lovers aren't hurt, they can choose not to take a look at it, traditional XBLA people love it, they are also free to take a look at AW because of playing the arcade game and perhaps find more to love.

Personally it didn't really interest me, but as stated, had nothing against it. Then I decided to try, well, nothing super really, just having fun, but nothing really graspfull.

Then I wanted to play it again.

A few days later again...

Then I wanted to beat a level, I beat another level the same day.

And so it went, from "not really caring" to "damn, this has really grown on me".

why don't you just try a few times more, at some points you'll just find the trick to keep you going and you it might just grow on you as it did on me :)

When the sun finally comes up, the daylight and end-credit words from the narrator just finishes the cycle. Hard to explain with that what I actually mean, but let's say it's in the small details Remedy put in there to keep the game a consistent ride all the way into the arcade.... lovely, just lovely.

I'm not even being generous here ;)

Yeah it for me was becoming addictive, to the point I got into top 400 total points. Thankfully mass effect 3 out now so can not play it for a few weeks. I will go back to it though.

I have been playing for hours trying to get 70k points and It's not happening for me at the moment lol.
But I guess practice makes perfect, I'll just try again tomorrow.:p

Ghost town, dodge the first 2 for a minute or so to get a 9X then start killing in a safe zone. Either near the ammo box with the light protecting one side or up the flight of stairs.

Speaking of Arcade mode, SCREW the guys, who spam flashbangs or whatever it is they throw at you.
Absolutely hate them. They have ruined my game at least five times so far. I get almost to the very end without getting hit once and then one of their stupid grenades heat-seeks me with less than fifteen seconds left.. This happened TWICE. In a row. And one of the times it wasn't even direct, the grenade itself was behind one of those wooden shacks in Ghost Town, yet it hurt me. That really sucked. Loving the hell out of Arcade mode, which is all I've played since the game came out on Steam last night, but these enemies are absolute tossers.

Is arcade mode really fun or is it just something to kill time?

Arrrghhh!! I hate this arcade mode, it stole my sole.
Because of it I still can't start to play the story mode - each time I say "ok, this was my last try", and then I restart the challenge and continue struggling to get top score...

Okay, yes, I can positively state that at least for me, surviving or getting three stars on all levels is absolutely no problem; getting a good high score on the Nightmare levels, on the other hand, is just a pain in the posterior area. I wish the multiplier would AT LEAST only go down one or two when you get hit in a ten-minute map, instead of restarting. This is just annoying. It's cheap difficulty, like the button-mashing QTEs in other games where you instantly die if you fail. I had to redo Oil Field on Nightmare four times in a row, twice because I got SHOVED, not even hit, by one of the regular Taken while my flashlight was burning his face off, and twice, because of the blokes that divide themselves. I like the challenge, I LOVE the title, but I hate this and the guys that spam you with 15 000 flashbangs per second.

Heh, Am I the only one who can appriciate the flashbangers sometimes? In the nightmare levels I usually end up running without any ammo and the flashbangers end up killing 2 or 1 of their own guys with their flashbangs. ^^ But yeah, they can be annoying sometimes with their rolling combo breakers, those flashbangs always roll right where you want to run to. :(

I think the arcade mode is fun though, During Alan Wake 1 I kind of missed this kind of mode where you can just shoot the taken up. :)

There are 2 things that make me really insane:
1) the slowmo-dodge action very often doesn't start, no matter how perfect my timing is :(( I'm playing on XBOX360joypad, and very often there are 4-5 dodging attempts that simply doesn't work in the end, slowmo doesn't start, the multiplier goes down and I start to lose all my points... And to sum up - enemy hits you at once with no chance to escape. I stuck on 36.750 and can't go further... What do I do wrong?
2) When an enemy has already finished his attack, and he starts to straighten himself up, you suddenly hit by his weapon just simply bouncing on it... Why is that? It's not an attack anymore, so why do I lose my life due to that not logic thing?

I initially used it to just practice for my lets play series to avoid spoiling the playthrough (as I like to go in blind on my let's Play) but damn the arcade mode grows on you! :L too bad I am rubbish at it lol

The flashbang guys are to the game what wasps are to nature - they're just there to mess around with and make things worse for everyone involved.
