  • American Nightmare Sales/Success

Now of course not everyone will have tried Fight Till Dawn yet[a few on my friends list have the game but have not played it yet] but looking at the overall leaderboard page it has over 8000 GTs as im guessing it only shows scores from people who bought the game?

So 8K sales in a day at 1200MSP is rather good i would say. Good 2 weeks for Remedy and AW fans.

    American Nightmare Sales/Success

If this sells well, do you guys think they might release another arcade game for us???

    It's at over 6,000 buys as of now, so that's 6,000 x 15.00

I know Remedy isn't getting all of the 15.00 per sale, probably 10-12 dollars of each sale, so it's safe to say they've made about 60,000 dollars roughly...

I wonder how much the budget was, and if they have made the money back...

The bulk of sales are always in the first week, then it dips dramatically.

It would be cool to get a arcade game like this on a yearly basis I think. It probably didn't take them too long to make this game, maybe 1.5 years at longest or so.

Let me know what you guys think about this.

No doubt. RMD are definitely releasing more XBLA games while also working on AW2. RMD hasn't confirmed that they're working on AW2, but why would they make AWAN if they wouldn't do AW2?

As for bulk of sales, you have no idea how well a game sells during a sale or deal of le week.

Yeah the leaderboard is now over 9K. Game only tracks the scores of people who have bought the game.

Does it track people who haven't played Arcade mode yet? I've only played a bit of the story mode (though I'm loving it!)

No, As i said in the first post it only tracks the FTD scores. So some might be waiting to finish the main story before trying it.

And people who have played Fight Til Dawn while online -- playing it offline won't count towards the Leaderboards scores. Just something to bear in mind as you speculate. =)

Currently says 10617 players. Think i read that MS demand around 50% of the sales?

so if it is almost 11000, maybe double that for peeps that have only played offline...making it maybe 22000?

Who knows. As mentioned we could still have many who have yet to even play FTD because they are playing the main story.

I was hoping for like 500k on launch. Or do arcade games not usually sell that fast?

No Arcade games tend to be slow sellers and only a few have sold over 1M. It will probably get a massive boost when it goes on a deal at some point.

I think Bastion did around 100K in its first month or so.
