Wow! I mean “WOW!” I have just finished watching the “Making of Alan Wake” video from youtube. And that is the first word that comes out of my mind. I am not the most privileged person in the world nor am I considered one of the richest. As a matter of fact, I consider myself one of the under-privileged. I could not afford to buy most games that come out on their release dates. But I could still manage to follow and buy them years later when prices have gone down to an affordable level for me. I got my Alan Wake game (Xbox 360) as a gift just this last Christmas (2011) from my partner. My partner bought the vanilla edition (the original one.) I've just finished playing the game in January of this year (2012.) After playing it, I felt like I was surrounded by Darkness, so I went out in search for some Light to help illuminate the dark mysteries that haunt me. As I went around, visiting different forums in search of the Light, I just can’t help myself to notice how many people complain about the Alan Wake game. This is this…….This is that…….I don’t like this…......I don’t like that………blah, blah, blah! What is going on with the world? Remedy gave up 5 years of their life, spend it researching, formulating, and eventually producing such an intricate, complex work of art and all you could do is complain?! I don’t even have the Collector’s Limited Edition and yet I still enjoyed the game (Hey, a gift is a gift. And when the gift comes from my partner, it should be appreciated.) I’ve been dying to get my hands on the collector’s edition. And I actually died when I found out about what such a good deal PC gamers have to be able to buy the Collectors Edition on steam at such a good price. And yet there are still PC gamers that complain? WTF! (Pardon me.) I wanted to buy the PC Collector’s Edition so bad but I couldn’t. The game won’t work on my PC. My PC is so old it is considered in the Digital Age as the “Jurassic Era.” With the advent of mobile computing, we stopped buying upgraded PCs. So, ever since, I’ve been saving enough money and hopefully I could buy me the Collector’s Edition for my Xbox 360. I hate to waste money knowing I already have the vanilla edition, but I’ve got to have the Collector’s Edition. It’s not for vanity’s sake; I just found out that there are materials in the Collector’s Edition that may hold the key and answer some of the mysteries underlying the Alan Wake game. That is the magnitude of the Alan Wake game and that is the magnitude of the work done by the Remedy team. As the saying goes, “Give credit to where credit is due.” Thank you very much, Remedy for delivering such a wonderfully crafted piece of art. I may not be rich, but I know I have one of the greatest treasures in the gaming world. And that is Alan Wake! (Well, I have half of it. I still need to get the Collector’s Edition.) And one more thing, don’t listen to what other people say. Take it with a grain of salt and learn from them. But I get your point. After watching the making of the game, I got it. You are on the right track. Keep it up guys! Cheers! |
