Hi

I just recently purchased Alan Wake collectors edition from steam. After installation i ran the game but i encounterd so much lag that the game can't be played. I run on the lowest grafic option but the kicker is that my system should be able to play the game smooth.

My System Specs are:

OS - WIndows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
CPU - Intel i5 750 2.67 GHz
Grafic Card - ATI Radeaon 4850 HD 512 Mb
RAM - 8 Gb

i've got a big screen so my screen resolution is 2500 something. i tried lowering it but it didn't do any difference.

My system is WAY lower then yours and I can run the game fairly good on medium, though only on 720P, it ran fluently on 10214x786 but I have a widescreen laptop, it jerked on 720 P (i fixed that by manually using the medium settings and just fixed the AA to 2 instead of 4).

So I'm not sure how your problem occurs, what resolutions are you trying?

My system is a core2duo P8700 (2.5Ghz), 4GB of ram and a geforce 9600MGT with only 512 dedicated (shared up to 1250).

I do use a memory stick to krank up the so called ram to 8GB, not sure if that actually works.

It does seem strange to me your system would have trouble, concidering my system is 4 years old and works fine on medium.

Well i started out with 2560 x 1440 but moved down to 1920 x 1080 but didn't experience any improvment. (as i said before i've got a big screen)

I know that my grafic card is not the best but if you trust the minimum system req I should be fine.

Okej everything is working now. Just had to sett the resolution down extremely low and then put it back up again. Strange but it's working now.

This is such a great game i must say. Very original!

Radeon 4850 can't run the game in such high resolutions with good performance. But good that it works now!

Yeah for sure you need to upgrade that GPU to play on that screen res.
