Pelit-Lehti article
This is poorly translated article from finnish Pelit-Lehti
![]() Whats going on with Alan Wake? After trailer released on fall there has been again been bad rumors about Alan Wake. Publishers are mad, rumor says Alan Wake will end up badly! Does psychological action thrillers writer have future, Remedy games Sami Järvi? '' We dont usually comment rumors. We just finded out how bad shape he really is. Surely we should have started to worry after his rude acting to press in New York was in headlines.'' '' As you know our current gameproject is supposed to be based on Wakes last hit novels depature promised extension Return. Our previous cooperation with Wake has always been flawless. But we have found out bare(?) truth: Wake have not been able to write a word after Depature.'' '' Sad but true Wakes writing agent Barry Wheeler has been able to conceal truth this long. According to Wheerel Wake had travelled whit his wife to recharge his batteries to idyllic town in Washington, but after many attempts we havent contacted him.'' Wow after reading this it really is poorly written!

Re: article
Hmm if I read this correctly it doesn't sound right at all. Alan doesn't travel with his wife to Bright Falls, his wife is missing and so he goes there because he has insomnia because he can't write due to her missing.
He wrote the previous novels based on the dreams (well nightmares) he was having when he was with his wife and then when she dissapears the dreams stop, hence he can't write anymore and he ends up developing insomnia. So no idea if you misread it yourself or it just translates incorrectly. Can anyone double check that? One thing that is new though is we find out Barry's last name and the fact that he's Alan's agent (he's the guy in the red jacket in the trailer). |

Re: Pelit-Lehti article
Yeah I read that article myself when I got the magazine today. It's not fake or anything. It does sound a bit confusing though.

Re: Pelit-Lehti article
I'll try to translate it. Will edit it here.
Quote:
So basically, it's a short backstory, which starts shockingly, making some pun about the rumours about Alan Wake being vapourware.
Whats going on with Alan Wake?
After the new trailer released in the fall there's again been some bad rumours about Alan Wake's future. The publisher is angry, they say, Alan Wake's going to end up badly! Is there a future for the writer, who ended up in the middle of a psychological action thriller, Remedy Game's Sam Lake? "We don't normally comment on rumours, but I have to admit, that at Remedy we're very worried about Alan Wake's future. Even we only shortly figured out in just how bad shape the man is. We probably should've gotten worried when his disturbing actions against the press in New York were in the headlines." "As you know, our current game project is based on the sequel (named Return) to Wake's previous best-selling Novel Departure. Our work with him before has always gone well (games, which are based on Wake's earlier crime novels). The rough truth has now been revealed to us: Wake hasn't been able to write a word after Departure." "Unfortunantely Wake's agent Barry Wheeler has been able to keep it a secret from us this long. Wheeler says Wake has traveled to an idyllic small town in the Washington state with his wife to recharge his batteries, but several attempts to contact him have failed." Thanks, Sam! Pelit-magazine continues to cover the story. Thanks Matti1!

Re: Pelit-Lehti article
@RTsa
Thanks for the translation! I think that is hysterical , Sam is basically saying he is worried for Alan Wake cause he's went AWOL and they dont know where he is. Very clever guys, very very clever indeed.Screw the Haters and Pessimists. Remedy just went up another notch in my eyes! |

Re: Pelit-Lehti article
Haha! That article is very clever. They basically act like the whole Alan Wake person would be a true person. And guys at Remedy are worried about him because his life is at such a bad shape
. Very clever indeed! But I was pretty shocked when it said that Alan Wake is at bad shape. I thought they were talking about the game, but they are actually talking about the person Wake .The characters in this game sound really interesting...

Re: Pelit-Lehti article
It's not a perfect translation, but I suppose it does get the message across.
It's clearer in finnish, obviously. And yeah, clever.

Re: Pelit-Lehti article
Ahh that makes more sense now. It's the whole Agent covering for the client deal and lying for Alan. Very Smart.

I wish to see these headlines. You have to go all the way with satire. Mirrors are more fun than Television |

Re: Pelit-Lehti article
It would be actually very awesome if you could read newspapers and there would be a article acout Alan here now and then. I would love to read all those faked articles like this one.

Re: Pelit-Lehti article
i love series of things where everything branches out, and then fits together and makes sense perfectly at the end. I think that possible tie-in with Max Payne is awesome.

Re: Pelit-Lehti article
What's missing in both of those translations is Alan's wife's name being Alice.
I don't remember it being mentioned elsewhere. So could this also be new info? Edit2: Oops! Should've googled it before posting. Edit: "This post is a duplicate of a post that you have posted in the last five minutes. You will be redirected to that thread." Forum not working properly. How could this be a "duplicate"?
