Is completed game Save Data Required for "The Signal"

i just recently upgraded to a new xbox360 and didnt move any of my game data over... i still have the alan wake game disc to insert but i dont have a save of the completed game anymore.... since the signal takes place after main game.. do i need a save to play it or can i just DL the Signal and play it just with the alan wake disc inserted?

it is Episode 7 and i think you have to finish episode 6 to play it (like other episodes)

No it's not considered Episode 7, it's officially titled "Special Feature 1" and is accessible from the main menu without you needing to complete the first game. Though I highly suggest people doing so prior to playing this.

So yes no save needed but the Alan Wake disc is needed to play.

thanks for the reply... yes i completed the game only a day or so after i got it on launch day.. pretty much played it straight through... but i ended up getting one of the new slim 360's and since i only had a few games on there i didnt think to move over any save data.. then i realized the alan wake DLC might need that save so just wanted to double check before i used the DLC code later this week...

thanks guys
