My Xbox 360 scratched my disk, but not in the typical fashion. What should I do?

My Xbox 360 scratched to games, both brand new. I keep my Xbox horizontal but it still left scratches that were very short in length but wide in comparison to normal wear and tear scratches. This happened to both my copies of Alan Wake and Red Dead redemption. Is this an laser issue, or something more physically wrong with the disc drive?

Try to clear it. You'll need to call MS support for that.

Have you moved the console when there is disc inside? It can break games.
