Points assigned per race.

Man, I've played this game for years back in those days; few weeks ago I found out that they made a Windows version. Seriously, if I had to pay for the game again I would love to. I've been playing DR again most of the time, forgetting "modern" games because DR is the funniest game ever to play ^^

Ok, so I read a lot about people trying to finish the game as fast as possible.
I don't want that, in fact, I'd love to play 300 races if needed

So I was trying to figure out if it's possible to change the points system.
For instance, I go to every upgrade before buying the next car, I play easy races until I can buy the Shrieker, so then I move to mid races, full upgrade until I can buy Deliberator to move to hard races. With this idea, I give Duke Nukem and others chance to try and make lots of points, however, I can usually catch up number 1 spot in about 60 races.
With that in mind, is it possible to for example, give:
hard race: 70, 65, 60
med race: 35, 30, 25
easy race: 5, 3, 1.
Or something like that. The point is while I'm trying to get to mid races, the other racers get a lot of points before I reach their races.
Anyway, maybe I'm not explaining this very well (not an English speaker) but the question remains: can the system points be edited? If so, how?
