Alan Wake coming to PC on February 16th, 2012!

Click here to read the Alan Wake FAQ: http://forum.alanwake.com/showthread.php?t=7667

We weren't going to release a PC version... then we took an arrow to the knee.

Seriously though guys, we know how much you all have wanted this and now it's finally official - Alan Wake is coming to the PC and will be released during the first quarter of 2012!

The PC release will also include both DLC's, The Signal and The Writer!

To celebrate the announcement we're giving you all a sneak peak with the first screenshot in all it's hi-def glory, you can view the full sized screen by clicking the thumbnail:

More details will come soon but for now you can check out the full press release below!

Remedy Entertainment is proud to announce the PC release of Alan Wake. Coming in early 2012, the game will give PC gamers the Alan Wake experience they have been patiently waiting for. Remedy is a developer with deep roots in the PC space (Death Rally and Max Payne 1 and 2), so the game will have the high resolution polish that longtime fans will expect.

The PC version of the game will also include The Signal and The Writer downloadable content.

Alan Wake tells the story of a best-selling writer suffering from writer’s block. He goes on vacation to the small town of Bright Falls with his wife, Alice, to gain back his creative flow. Shortly upon arrival, Wake finds himself trapped in a nightmare when his wife mysteriously goes missing. He keeps finding pages of a manuscript he apparently wrote, but can’t remember writing. The manuscript is coming true. An involving psychological action thriller, Alan Wake raises the bar in storytelling and creating a suspenseful cinematic experience.

To get a sneak peak at Alan Wake for PC, please check out the first screenshot:

Release window sound familiar? That’s because Alan Wake’s American Nightmare for Xbox Live Arcade will also be available in the first quarter of 2012! For more information and updates, please visit Facebook www.facebook.com/alanwake and Twitter @Remedygames.

Finally! I almost lost hope.

What exactly this next quote will include? "game will have the high resolution polish that longtime fans will expect."

Is it just better textures or are you going deeper to really making it look better on PC?

The publisher of the PC version is always MS??Will be distributed retail or through DD??

we KNOW this will be on Steam due to the leak the last few days, but will it also be available at retail?

Awesome news... except the arrow joke . Let's just hope those lipsync issues are taken care of... and some upgraded geometry and textures wouldn't hurt either .

I already own the Xbox 360 version but will buy this one also, Remedy definitely deserves it + I don't have those 2 episodes on my Xbox.

Re: Alan Wake coming to PC in early 2012!

Yeah this is going to be a toughie to work out if the sales were good or not as it is quite likely that a lot of the potential buyers either:

a) rented it and played it on the 360
b) caved and purchased it and/or purchased/rented/borrowed a 360
c) lost all interest
d) just watched some let's plays instead on youtube
e) might consider buying it on PC
f) other things that i'm leaving out because i suck at making poll options

If the sales are bad... it'll be interesting to see what RMD/MS say and do with sequels and any future DLC etc. that Alan Wake has... I think they're not stupid, so they would definitely know that delaying a release by ~2 yrs to another platform means that they are not going to get 1 million sales on that other platform (in this case PC), unless the game is unbelievably brilliant, the release window is well timed, and/or you brainwash everyone somehow...

That all aside I am ridiculously happy and excited and will do as much as possible on my own part through word of mouth to garner up some more sales

Well i can guarantee that this version will be much more polished in technical, artistic way and overall as a product it'll be complete experience. Considering DLCs, fixing the voice sync thing, increasing texture details...
So whether you purchased the Xbox version or not. this will be unique experience and i'll recommend this title to anyone who play games on PC

i have a question,is any Xbox fans will mad about this?(like "lost exclusives again" blah blah blah)

seriously i am Xbox fan but i think this game should be on PC,and since Xbox fans play this game earlier than PC-only gamer almost 2 years,i don't really think that's big deal for 360 but it's good news for PC-only gamer
