I'd like to thank the good folks at remedy for pricing the game at the extremely fair amount of 20,99€(23,99€ later) in Europe. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Installing now!

The game is so cheap. I was actually shocked. So shocked that I bought Magicka and resident Evil 5 at the same time.

Can't wait to start playing!

27,99€(31,99€) here. Where do you live?

Can't I buy standard edition for even cheaper?

CE is free atm. Hence the strikethrough on the price on steam.

Bought it around 5.55PM GMT appeared early in the Steam store in the UK as soon as I heard my HD update I knew it was on the store ready to go!! Should be ready to play in around 2 hours now.

Big thank you to everyone @ Remedy & Nitro Games who made this possible on PC

I will probably still buy the UK retail collectors edition as well cannot resist all those goodies either buying both is still cheaper than the 360 CE anyway I can always give my brother the retail steam keys anyway

Gah. Decisions....

Do I want to pay now or wait for retail (I already have both versions for the 360, so I have played the game).

As I live in WA state, I pay sales tax even on Steam purchases. So for me the price is a wash.

I really like having physical copies, but want to play NOW and not in 2 weeks!!!!!

<sigh>

Looking forward to posts on how it looks/plays.

Jealous in Seattle.

I live in Hungary, the lower price might apply to EU countries east from Austria(Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Latvia etc).

Check your download region through the Steam client.

Steam => Settings => Downloads + Cloud

Pick the closest country / city to your location.

I once boosted Steam download speeds 5x because the download region auto-assigned was way off for some weird reason

I know I said I'd go for retail before, but 20.99€ is just too good of a price to wait for two weeks and pay almost 40€.

ETA 2h from Steam wohooo

Thank you Remedy for releasing the PC version of Alan Wake!
I'm so glad it's finally back home! ^^

Now the waiting game begins, as my download speed is just around 550 kb/s. (You can do it, internet hamster, just keep running!)
I guess I'll just start a staring competition with my download meter in the meantime.

Re: Alan Wake is out now on Steam!

Ok i have it. Game installed and after few minutes of play i can say.

Remedy game looks great. I played AW on 360 but on PC game runs and looks how it should.

Game runs good for 70-80% of time but in some moments framerate spike to 100 fps and when i turn camera dip to 30-40fps? Why so huge difference?
Some parts of the code are less optimized than others? ?

Can you guys add fix(framerate limiter) when i can limit game to 60fps max? I dont need spikes to 100+fps.
Also "V sync on" is not an option to me it takes out too much fps.

MSI afterburner you can limit frames, disable v-sync in game and force v-sync with D3DOverrider.
