I doubt that there are gonna be any new posts. I think the last Blog entry was actually a pretty good ending. It is a tease for AW2, of course we won´t get a full story with answers or something.

I hope that Remedy is gonna make something like the Bright Falls mini series again. That would be awesome!

It didn´t really end suddenly. I mean the last post was the description of an epic dream that actually gave us new information and ended with an amazing closing speech:

"I know that something amazing is coming, that something wonderful is going to happen, and at the same time I know that when it does, it will be something totally different from what I’m expecting, something I could never have imagined. And I know it might take a long time before it does happen, but no matter how long it takes, I’ll be here, waiting."

Found this while checking out the new steam community guides for AW, seems like something similar to This House of Dreams

Looks like to much work to be done by a fan but the account that made it isn't private (I think it probably would be if it was made by Remedy)

Also worth saying the account that made it is 8 years old.

Hmm interesting.

Steam Guides hasn't been online for long. To think that this guy pulls this stuff out in a very short time, is suspicious. Is all this planned?

If you check out his steam profile, one of the pictures is from The Secret World (I think). The pictures has a lighthouse, which if I remember contained some Alan Wake easter eggs.

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfile.../?id=115420233

The profile also shows that he has only played the first game for 12.5 hours and that he has been a member of Steam for a long time now.

Also, take a look at the achievements and the unlock times:
http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/7...b=achievements

He still hasn't finished the game and he has 12.5 hours put into the game?
In fact, he unlocked a story achievement from episode two, just five days ago.

If you then compare this to the actual story, notice how all of the pictures are taken from the first two episodes.

It's as if he is writing this stuff while playing through the game.

I still wouldn't jump into conclusions.

Is it a Remedy employee in disguise or just an avid fan?

Edit: it seems that this is all written by a guy named Andy Link. Search chainlinkspiral, for more connections.

Here's his website:

Re: Fansite or official? (House of Dreams - Alan Wake 2?)

Long time lurker - first post. Just had to comment.

I think it is just a fan. His writing is very "fan-fiction" quality. I'm not denigrating it, but it doesn't seem something that Sam Lake would have put out to be viral.

There are many inconsistencies with the actual AW plot, as well as layering a strange timeline with real people and fictional characters.

The fact that Zane is referred to a lot is another tip off, because almost all of the world has completely forgotten Zane, it's not credible for all this to be out and discussed. Plus adding a preposterous additional love story pre-Barbara Jagger has it lose credibility in my mind.

Then there is the fact that the writer has added "poetry" written by Zane. It doesn't have any of the cadence or prose we've seen from Zane's dialogue earlier.

The casual drug references are also a sign it's probably not a viral posting. By including "Zane smoking a spliff with the Anderson Brothers" it is going to decrease it's ability to spread effectively, in contrast to My House of Dreams which had no questionable comment other than scary things relating to horror.

My guess is that it is a fan who loves to write and is intermingling his ideas with notions from the existing content.

His "Too Busy" comment just means he is writing feverishly trying to finish his fiction or that he is cultivating a persona to tie into the original AW story.

Just my take - not worth more than anyone else's opinion. I just felt like adding my two cents.

Indeed! Well said, Bro! I'm not confirming anything here. I'm just agreeing to what you've observed. It's perplexing though, if this is indeed a work of a fan. Trying to use actual characters from a work of art already done by a different writer and then adding your own story to it, making up new stories and then make it readily available for the public to read is bewildering. Who does that? And why?...That doesn't seem to add any value to the existing game or to the original story. It certainly doesn't act as a guide since it has a different story line than the actual story of the game. Then what is this all about?...A propaganda. Maybe he just wants to express his creativity. But that puzzles me!

Unless he is permitted to do so. Like I've said earlier, could be acting up as or pretending to be a "ghostwriter." You know, a person who writes one or numerous stories, books, articles, etc., for another person who is named as or presumed to be the author. A "Ghostwriter."

Just using the characters, the places, and some items already belonging to the story written and made by Remedy and then used here by another writer to create his own story is baffling. Don't you think? I understand the creative mind and the need to express yourself and your creations. But doing so at the expense of others is not at all creative. No originality, so to speak.

I don't know what this is all about. But it is certainly interesting.

Cheers!

Who thinks that Samantha will be the protagonist to Alan's new manuscript/story, "The House of Dreams"?
It would make sense, since she's the one experiencing the stuff Alan/Thomas writes. The poems and the new manuscript, alike.
What if you play as Samantha, while Alan narrates the story.
It would be very interesting. And I wouldn't mind it one bit.
It would be a new way to tell the story.

Since I can't see Alan experiencing the same "conditions" as in AWAN, where his memory was "hazy" enough for him to forget his own manuscript, I think that his story's protagonist (likely Samantha) will be finding the manuscript pages instead. It would be a very interesting way to tell Alan's new story. It's very exciting to speculate like this!

Let's find out how many names we could come up with:

Alan Wake: Eclipse?
Alan Wake: Encephalitis?
Alan Wake: Encrypted?
Alan Wake: Encoded? He-he! Not typewritten!
Alan Wake: Ending?
Alan Wake: Evolution? - I think this is already "taken" (see what I did there?)
Alan Wake: Eclipse? - isn't this the vampire movie? Already said it on top, first one.
Alan Wake: Echoes?...

...to be continued...

***Spoiler Coming Up!***

I agree. It was an unsuspecting twist. It really got my attention when the freakin' FBI guy started shooting at Wake in the presence of bystanders when Wake met Nightingale for the very first time. I mean, Wake doesn't even know the guy yet. It was another "what da f@ck!" moment in the game for me. Awesome! Then, later on, the freakin' FBI guy did it again to Wake in the presence of Pat Maine, a bystander who eventually got mad at Nightingale for shooting around carelessly. But then, Pat mentions that Nightingale was reeking with alcohol. What?! Intoxicated while shooting at a fugitive wife killer, I mean suspected wife killer, in the presence of bystanders is one of the better scenes of the game indeed. Awesome, just pure awesomeness!

Well I don't know. What did he do, kill his wife or somethin'? (Sneaky Me!)

I think with Alice missing, and everybody dying and gone missing in Bright Falls, maybe he is still considered by Nightingale as a fugitive. After all, Wake did in fact wrote all of this. And Nightingale was suspicious about it. For Nightingale, Wake could be responsible for killing all of this people. But then, in the end we don't know what happened to Nightingale yet. The same is true with Alice. Although we already know that Alice is alive at the end of this story. But then, we don't really know anything yet as to what happened to her after that, or before that, for that matter. (Sneaky, sneaky Me!)

We also heard some stories about Alice in the AWAN game. But that was pretty vague. Nobody could even figure out if the events that transpired in the AWAN game happened only in television as a Night Springs episode, or in reality as well. Does that mean that the Alice murder mystery is still unresolved? Henceforth, the plot thickens! (Sneaky, sneaky, sneaky Me!)

Is the chase still on the next time around? Will the next Alan Wake be as thrilling and mysterious? Will it be full of action packed scenes and gripping twisted plots? That all remains to be seen, folks. I can't wait! Oh no, I think I said somewhere that I can wait. Yes, of course, I can still wait! When it comes, it comes. And I will wait! All of us will, right fellas'?

(I'll give you a hint about the plot. Wake re-writes reality again, everybody comes back to life, nobody died, nobody got drunk, and definitely there were no shooting incidents, and everybody lived happily ever after, just like in the animated fairy tales. A dream come true! A true love's kiss!)

continuing your hint plot...

so Alan decides to go take a leak, then when is returning to his desk to write the rest of this 'perfect ending' reality, he trips over a loose wire bashing the table where his typewrite and all manuscript where located, spilling coffe all over the place and over the manuscripts, thus distorting the whole fabric of reality creating a new coffee-based lifeform that ruled the earth til the cicle repeated itself again.
