    Hi guys,
    first sorry for my bad english i am from germany

    I finally bought this game for steam and i could play it a hour without a crash. But now i wanna play it again but i get this error code:

    "couldn't initialize Direct3D - LoadLibrary failed"

    I did not change anything on my PC (Software/Hardware)

    I would check to make sure you have DirectX installed. You can check here. Also run end user directX run time installer found at bottom of that page.

    When that is done I recommend uninstalling your video card drivers and re-install with most up to date driver. You should then be good to go.

    You can also verify ingretity of local files for Alan Wake by following these steps:

    Load Steam.
    From the Library section, right-click on the game and select Properties from the menu.
    Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game cache... button.
    Steam will verify the game's files - this process may take several minutes.

      DirectX and the VIdeo Drivers are uptodate (i also checked it with "dxdiag")

      the ingretity of local files seems good too...

      But error is the same! :/

        Try uninstalling and reinstalling video card drivers along with uninstalling and reinstalling AW.

        Did you run direct x web installer? Dx diag only diagnostic. You may need direct x 9 patch as thats what AW uses.
