Re: Alan wake pc crash at start up Multi-sample antialiasing not supported by yo

    Hello,
I have this problem also on a Toshiba A665-S6086 Intel i3 M370 based system with Intel HD GMA integrated graphics. I am running Windows 7 64-bit. Dxdiag reports DX version is 11(not 9 or 10). This should be able to at least try to run the game. there are other games that are demanding that are surprisingly playable.

I see no reason for Anti-Aliasing to be required, just turn it off... it is an additive type of effect. it attempts to smooth the jaggies. I don't see why you just can't NOT try to do such a thing LOL. It is not like pixel shading etc. it should just be able to have it NOT enabled by default(like many games) and it can be disabled in every game I know that uses it.

On some games on my desktop system since it is a nice high 1920x1080 I run at I often don't need any antialiasing on and turn everything else up to max, ultra etc. and get a very smooth playability and it looks just fine.

    Thanks.
Oh, the Graphics driver version is: 8.15.10.2622. That is latest on Toshiba site that will install. Ones from Intel directly do not install.

Try to see if updating your drivers helps. A lot of people have had issues with Intel HD GFX but most seem to have been solved by updating drivers.

Click here for additional help on updating your drivers.

Also check that direct x 9 is installed. Click here

AW using some direct x 9 files and you need to manually install as Win 7 does not have.
