  • Max Payne 1 & 2 on Steam

Any chance we'll see Max Payne 2 on Steam? Or some other download service like that. I've been trying to find a place selling the game, but most stores don't seem have it.

Doubtful. You'd have to speak to Take 2 about that as they have control over the game, not Remedy.

But there's lots of places selling the game:
    http://www.amazon.com/Max-Payne-Fall/dp/B0000D12XI
    http://www.gameexpress.com/product_d...C=710425272608
    http://www.gamequestdirect.com/710425272608.html
    http://www.cduniverse.com/search/xx/...+Max+Payne.htm

    and so on.

      Ah, ok.

I didn't really want to order through the mail, but I guess that's my only choice here since no stores seem to be carrying it and there's no download service. So I just tried Amazon.ca (since I'm in Canada) and a couple places on Amazon.com, but the the listings for the game aren't any good. I get an error saying the item is no longer being sold when I go to check out. Why would they even list them if that was the case? lol

Oh well, the search for the PC version continues. Think I'll work the phones for a local place some more. Thanks for the heads-up.

PS: It really sucks Remedy doesn't own the IP rights. I can't imagine the franchise being any good under a different developer. Can't wait for Alan Wake though!

Most local stores will be able to order it in for you and do the leg work themselves. Ask if they can get it in.

I know most Electronic Boutique stores do that.

Both games are now available on Steam, and if you order now, you get a small discount as well.

            Max Payne 1:
            http://www.steamgames.com/v/index.ph...me&AppId=12140

            Max Payne 2:
            http://www.steamgames.com/v/index.ph...me&AppId=12150

            MP1 and MP2 Bundle:
            http://www.steamgames.com/v/index.ph...kage&SubId=604

As a side note, I heard that the Max-FX tools included on the MP1 disc aren't included in this package. A shame, because you need to rasmaker to apply the Vista sound fix.

As far as I know this excludes Germany and Australia due to a missing age verification system. I can confirm this for Germany as I even don't see the games on the website.

Re: Max Payne 1 & 2 on Steam

Looks like the ESRB listing was correct. Max Payne 1 and Max Payne 2 are now available for download on Xbox LIVE Marketplace. They’re both Xbox Originals and carry a hefty price tag --1200 Microsoft Moon Bucks, to be exact.

If you find yourself itching to re-enter the drab world of Max Payne, then you’re probably excited about Max Payne 3. Unfortunately, it won’t be coming until Winter 2009, which is an epoch according to Internet time. So, you may be better off sating your eagerness with these two classic Payne titles.

I haven’t had a chance to download these yet, so I don’t know if they’re busted or buggy like a few of the Xbox Originals available. Are any of you going to bite?

I'm not, but then again, I already own MP and MP2 for Xbox. That price tag is a ripoff. $12 a piece. You are getting a flawless digital copy, but you could probably just go to GameStop/EB and get both for under $5 total in most likely good condition. Last time I was there, I saw Max Payne for $1.99, and MP2 for $4.99.
I hope for nothing. I fear nothing.

Pretty hillarious, I checked my version on Steam, pretty much the same thing.
What a fail on Rockstar's side.

It's nice to know I'll be able to get Max Payne 2 at a good price when I eventually get a PC, as I've lost my copy. I've missed out on so many mods.

shauny, it has been confirmed by Kitt, who downloaded them and found out that they do support Win 7.

But... wait... wat? Why are you guys excluded due of age verification system as missable? :S What's going on ? :S

First Mortal Kombat, now this. What more will I hear/read before I die with peace?
