Here’s a bit of a Max Payne tidbit I remember from an old interview. Originally there was going to be an extra cutscene in the game during the prologue where you would see Mrs Payne’s death. However, the cinematic technology wasn’t up to the task and it was felt her death was more impactful to the player if it happened offscreen. The scene was cut but there’s an unused woman’s scream in the final game’s audio files that was originally intended for that scene.
