  • Max Payne 3

Hello , i'm new to these forums . I see it's quite empty atm , but i 'm sure it'll get filled in time .

The very first thing which came to my mind when I got the news of Alan Wake game announcement was the question - Does that mean there'll be no Max Payne 3 ? I'm sure Alan Wake will be a great game , but what about Max ?

    Re: Max Payne 3

The rights to MaxPayne were sold. Last thing I heared was there might be a MaxPayne3 - I am not at all sure, though. I haven't kept an eye on that subject.
The only thing for sure I know is: *If* there is a Max Payne 3 it won't be done by Remedy.

I can understand it. Making sequels to one game only is not what most developers want, probably.

Yeap, like motionblur said, Remedy wont be making Max Payne 3, so Alan Wake doesn't affect at all to production of Max Payne 3.

Didn't MP2 leave it open for another sequel? I can't remember it was too long ago when I played it. I wouldn't want to see another MP just because if you switch devs, it just isn't the same.

Yeah at the end of the credits it says something along the lines of "Max Payne will continue his journey through the night." What remains to be seen is if another developer can pull it all off as well as Remedy and stay true to the feel of the series.

I think they should let the game die already... I mean... such good games! Both of them, in fact! I mean... sure... the sold their rights, but a lot of gamers don't know that (I, for example, found it out just now from this very same topic) and when/if Max Payne 3 comes out and it sucks, then they are going to curse Remedy to the bottom of Hell. Not to mention n00bish e-mails stacking up in the developers' mailboxes. MP1 and MP2 have pretty much made their point already. Maybe a new action-character, a new plot and a new experience? But first make a sequel to Alan Wake The game is not out yet and I'm already looking forward to a sequel.

I'd agree that Remedy could go on and do even better things (Alan Wake)
though I'd seriously doubt Max Payne 3 would'nt be the most kick ass game If Remedy developed it. Think of that game with the engine used to run Alan Wake.

If Rockstar does something with the game they'll probably do it properly, so maybe we'll see in a year or so.

It seems to me that at the end of Max Payne 2 Max escaped the shadows of his mind and the pain he was living with, the death of his wife.

bixen I thought Take 2 bought the rights? And Rockstar was only like a branch off from it?
Ah well I think the game is in safe hands either way if it is to be made. To be honest I think the 2 summed up their own story enough.

Maybe they'll make an animated film a bit like Sin City with the story. Which would be pretty awesome to see. 3d films seem to be all the rage these days.

If Rockstar did get the rights, MP3 has a good chance of being a good sequel. They just need to hire the same voice actor though.

Most of the Max Payne 1&2 voice actors seem to work "for" Rockstar, at least that how it looks like from IMDB. When you check MP2 actors you see that most of them have been in Manhunt, GTA (all after 3) and other Rockstar games.

                          Yup, that's true...
But there are many ways to go "around"

Take 2 bought them, but Take 2 in itself doesn't market games, Rockstar and now 2K Games does. Rockstar handles the "cool" stuff as I see it, 2K Games handles other games. So by saying Rockstar controls it you are basically saying Take 2-Rockstar Games, but it's the same thing if you disregard legal mumbojumbo. R* is fully owned by Take 2.
