Heya, my name is Robin and I just registered. Picked up Alan Wake a few days ago and just couldn't put it down until I beat it, on my second playthrough now and just got obsessed with reading everything you guys write here so I thought I'd join the conversation too! So much interesting stuff and theories going on here so I'm glad to be a part of the community. Oh, also I'm 19 and from Sweden.
    HAI SUP! :D

        Hello everyone.

I am Aditya. I have a lot to say and express, couldn't find a better place to do so.
I've been following this game for years, when I saw the first video of this game (2004, I guess). Actually I was searching for Max Payne 3 on youtube and came across a video which was Alan Wake's, uploaded by some user, I don't remember. I was very impressed by the mood of the video and started searching for all I could find regarding this game. But there wasn't much info. I visited the Remedy Site but couldn't find much.
I found some things things, but they weren't much for what I wanted.

After a long wait I found the cinematic trailer of Alan Wake on one of the websites (not Remedy's) and the second I heard the theme music and the beauty Remedy has incorporated to this game, I was spell bound. Lot of questions came to my mind- What is this? How can anyone make something like this? The intense mood, lightning, shadows, fogs, winds, atmosphere, facial expressions, beautiful landscapes, music, thrill, it was amazing. At that moment, for me, Remedy touched excellence. I was so damn desperate to get my hand on the game.

I don't know, but maybe I found about Alan Wake being a Vaporware after I saw the cinematic trailer. I was very disappointed and mad at the same time. Ever get that feeling of desperation even after knowing that you cannot get something? It's horrible.
But thank God that was just a rumor and Alan Wake was still under development.
Another thing which I thought about this game was, it being for Windows as well, but later on the title was declared as an XBox 360 exclusive. And also about the game being a Sandbox, but I give away this to Remedy because I understand that story is important for this game and a free roam structure just might not be well enough to emphasize the same.

But after a long long wait, finally the game was announced and was given a launch date. I had to play this game. I bought an XBox just for this purpose.
But couldn't manage to get the game to soon. But eventually I had an Alan Wake DVD in my hands. I was going crazy like hell.
Played, finished and felt the intensity of the game. I almost cried at the end, and felt as if I was Alan Wake, giving my everything to save my love- Alice.

And as far I can say this game is- Awesome, outstanding, amazing, brilliant. Wish I had more words to express how it is.
Remedy you have created a masterpiece, nothing like this game, it's just perfect. Everything about this game. No wonder it required so much time to come out. Every little detail is finely indulged. Hats-off to you Remedy. You guys are genius.
And Sam Lake, you are a true inspiration. The complexity of the story and revisions on it. It takes an amazing artist's mind to wander such deep into such levels, and that too with such emotions... And you made it.
I have seen so many revised versions of the story. From the first ever video, gameplay trailers (Eg: Rusty's hiding the pages near the light house), cinematic trailers and the final story, it has all been changed to become more better. Even the map, some parts of it are different than given in the previous gameplays. But it's all because to bring the best of the story.

I wish I could meet the whole team of Remedy Entertainment someday, learn from them and become like them. I will come to Finland after I complete my studies. You are very passionate about what you do. The technology you build for this game to work so well with the story. I just want to be like you people. You are far more better than any other developers.

I think I should stop writing now, I can go on for ages. But I don't think anybody would want that right now.

Finally, thanks again Remedy for giving Alan Wake to the world.
Looking forward for the next DLC and the next season as well.
        All the best.

Hi there, forum. Across these wide internets, I go by Mungo. Alan Wake is definitely the game of the year for me. Can't wait for the sequel and I refuse to even entertain the possibility that there won't be one.

Hey guys, my names Elijah, I'm 14 and Live in North Carolina. When I had first seen Alan Wake I was flabbergasted. It looked like the greatest thing mankind had ever created, about a month or two later I bought it, and it truly was, the greatest thing mankind had ever created. It's the most brilliant game I've ever played and now I'm addicted. I'm in my third time running through it, once on each difficulty, and am still trying to figure out the ending. I dunno, if you wanna know more about me, message me or something
