I read this book and was blown away, this guy's writing abilities are amazing! If your looking to pick up something to read, look no further. If not, well, do yourself a favor and read it anyway!

      Re: Eragon

Here's a paste of the website blurb, AnXa: "When Eragon finds a polished blue stone in the forest, he thinks it is the lucky discovery of a poor farm boy; perhaps it will buy his family meat for the winter. But when the stone brings a dragon hatchling, Eragon realizes he has stumbled upon a legacy nearly as old as the Empire itself. Overnight his simple life is shattered, and he is thrust into a perilous new world of destiny, magic, and power. With only an ancient sword and the advice of an old storyteller for guidance, Eragon and the fledgling dragon must navigate the dangerous terrain and dark enemies of an Empire ruled by a king whose evil knows no bounds. Can Eragon take up the mantle of the legendary Dragon Riders? The fate of the Empire may rest in his hands. . . ." No doubt the "fate of the empire" does indeed rest in his hands.

I haven't read the book, but to me it seems to be just another Ye Olde Worlde saga about a boy and his dragon, cue wizards, elves, pixies, beards, swordfights and a love story. There isn't much than can induce catatonia in me quicker than another retread of an adventure book. However, this book may be completely different, written with style and panache, full of interesting events and original ideas. Perhaps.

So, DS12, apart from his writing style, what else is there to distinguish the series from the others?

I read about 150 pages into it, but had to stop because school was over. I'll definetly pick it up again in high school.

            Re: Eragon

I read the book (twice, actually, I was getting board with no more books and I didn't want to read War and Piece again), and because I have the special hard cover version, I read one chapter into Eldest.

I love Christopher Paolini's fantasy literature.

            AnXa...

tThis book is about a boy called Eragon and a dragon named Sapphira. They were destined to be together and choose a path: good or evil.
