  • Re: What movie did you last see?

Saw Casino Royale yesterday. I'm not that into Bond, but it was a frickin great film.

Looking forward to "Blood Diamond", saw the trailer at the beginning of Bond and it looked fantastic.

Yeah. I read an article today in my school news paper. Appariently, Dutin Anderson needs a very serious and firm beating. Perhaps, if I remberd to put the thing in my backpack, I'll quote the final paragraph and title.

Alas, I did not. I do rember one thing: "If theres one thing this Bond film proved, it is that no more Bond flicks should be made..."

The entire article says how much Daniel Craig was a horrible Bond (yet, hes acclaimed as one of the best), how bad the direction was, the lack of gadits, the lack of chicks, and the lack of 'Bond as we know him.'

He even says that "They even changed the classic line 'shaken, not stired' to 'shaken or stirred' and then Bond replies 'Does it really look like I give a damn?'" Obviously, the idiot WASN'T WATCHING THE SAME FILM because Bond said that because he had just funded terrorisim.

Then theres that whole 'he doesn't even act like Bond' and the whole 'lack of gadits.' For a guy who seems to be such a big Bond fan, he obviously didn't realise the movie was based more on the first book than any of the recent movies, before Bond was Bond and before he had rocket launchers in his car.

If theres one thing this article proves: it is that Dutin Anderson should be beaten over the head with an EXREAMLY large brick.

      Anyway, enough ranting.

Yeah it was a movie about HOW he becomes Bond. After everything he goes through in that movie, that's what shapes up the character of Bond and that's why the final scene is with him in a suit with a gun saying "my name is Bond, James Bond". He's finally in character then.

I watched it again last night, brilliant movie.

Deer Hunter -- haven't seen it in a long time. The hunting scenes made me think about Alan Wake

Gonna watch the new bond movie today actually, with my father, my sister and my girlfriend.

I watched Deer Hunter just yesterday too.

Tonight I get the feeling that I'm going to be made to watch something truely soul destroying; I just know that what ever it is, it'll have Hugh Grant in it.

Although I miss Pierce Brosnan (he's one of my favorite Bond-actors up there along with Sean Connery and Roger More), the movie was great, and the new Bond isn't all that bad I suppose. I liked the movie itself, it was good. Definitively worth watching if you just have an open mind about it.

Saw Silent Hill last night and was very pleased. Even though I have only just started to play the game, I found the movie did a great job of adapting the video game and providing some good horror.

Yeah. It's one of the movies from games where they actually captured it pretty damn well. I love that movie. One of my all time favorites.
I used to watch it over and over just because of all of the eye candies and the excellent job they did adapting it to a movie, and using a lot of the old sountracks (with some remakes). :cooler:

I started watching the Superman Collection DVD box set I got for x-mas. It has Superman: The Movie, Superman II, Superman III, and Superman IV. Not Returns because that movie sucked.

Anyways, I watched the first movie and thought it was pretty good. It took a few turns for the wierd and I thought Lex was a little too 'comic releif' like for Superman's nemesis. Also the end where Superman goes back in time to save Lois was a little lame. But still a good movie.

Then I watched Superman II and its gone down in my book as one of the best movies ever made. It was awesome. It took out some of the cheesey-ness of the first film, did a big up for the effects, bigger budgit, and a plot that had me really interested. One of my favorite scenes, not only in this movie but of all time, was when Superman gives up his powers to become nothing more than ordinary for Lois and gets beat up by that trucker.

I didn't like the scene because I was all "LOL superman got beat up by some lame trucker!" but because the scene was really well done and made you feel like Superman did at that moment. I also really like how he went back and totally beat the shit out of him at the end.

The biggest question Superman II gave me was: why the hell couldn't Returns have been that good? Why not a fight with Doomsday as the plot and not Lex pulls out the kryptonite?

Watched The Singing Detective not long ago.

Lately I've been out trying to find some Coen brothers movies and Dark City on DVD, but I can't seem to find them anywhere

Dobermann - an old french movie, pretty violent but pretty good, I liked it.

Silent Hill - I liked it a lot, very true to the games (such as an early part of the movie very closely similar to the first SH game beginning) and visually amazing. And it didn't annoy me so much with obviously wrong reactions from the characters (you know 'let's divide in 2 groups of 1!') or creepy little girls (even though there was one, it was done ok). Anyway, it's surely the best (and the only good) game-based movie I saw.
