  • Re: What game did you last play?

Finally had some time (like 4 hours in 1 month) to continue playing Sleeping Dogs. Well, I like it more now - maybe because my health is maxed out Maybe, because missions got better. Anyway, I'm ~40 percent done with the story. Could have been 60-70, but I was doing side activities to gain some money, upgrade my character etc.

Bioshock Infinite. Oh man, it really is a beautiful game. I feel like I am in that "haze" all over again, which possessed me when playing the first two Bioshocks.

This is going to be fun.

          Bioshock Infinite

          Completed it. Didn't like it

I'd say an uninspiring game... despite the attempts to be pretentiously clever.

The visuals & gameplay are more polished than in the first two games but the story... well, it's patchy at best. Follows the modern trend of Spoiler:
          that I hate so much

          Overall: 7/10

I also played LA Noire recently... and that is a good game. Where the story definitely makes sense. Well structured and has great replay value. More than 20 hours of gameplay.

The only downside that it gets on my nerves when exploring victims I couldn't be a forensic expert in real life... I realized that

I still have to finish it - a couple of cases left... but at this particular moment I would rate it around 8.5/10.

Im not really the type to play game console game much. I spend a lot of time studying so i play online games, because thats mostly what i develop. But the last game i played was a online game known as maplestory.

Just finished playing Deadlight. If you enjoyed the old Abe's Odyssey games, then this will be right up your alley. Think Abe + zombies and that's what this game is all about.

The story itself was average, and my game had a habit of losing sound during cutscenes, but the gameplay itself was pretty good. I think they could have expanded on the game and taken some more inspiration from the Abe titles to come up with some great sequences. There's plenty of potential with the gameplay, so I hope they make another title and really stretch the possibilities.

Sleeping Dogs still. But I'm 85 percent or so done with the story, not considering all side-quests and cases are done. I would say I can finish it in a few days (if I have time since need to open my 3rd company - game making one this time). Will probably finish its DLCs too.

                      Anyone else played Arcadecraft?

Its an indie game on XBL and its really good fun. If you played Game Dev Story on mobile then you should like this.

You basically have to set up and run an Arcade store. Only 240MSP

Finished Sleeping Dogs. Tried its "Nightmare DLC" and after 2 missions realized that it's boring. So, enough of Sleeping Dogs for me.

Have started playing Dirt: Showdown and I love it. Haven't tried it with the wheel yet, but should be fun.

And here I was hoping they'd be a thread to discuss BioShock: Infinite properly. Just... Wow.

It's not perfect. You could argue that the gameplay is more simplified than the original. To me it felt as if Columbia isn't as thematically dense as Rapture, and I thought the atmosphere outside the opening hour was a little lacking too. Plus some of the sub-plots and themes feel either feel under-developed or are completely dropped in it's closing act.

But Infinite is an artistic marvel all the same. The world is absolutely stunning to look at, and IMO Columbia is slightly better realized than even Rapture since you see the city in it's hay-day (with people walking about, sights to see, conversations to overhear, audio tapes to discover... You get the idea) as well as it's downfall. The gameplay as well feels vastly different to BS1 due to a significantly faster pace and due to the fact that all the Vigors are equally as useful as one another. In BS1 I used maybe 3-4 Plasmids the entire game, but Infinite I was genuinely juggling between all available Vigors throughout. The addition of skylines is also fantastically done, adding an element of real strategy while also being great fun to use. The really great addition, however, is Elizabeth. She's one of the strongest video game companions ever created because she's so likable right from the get-go, never getting in the way and only ever helping you out by throwing ammo or health in the middle of battles. You genuinely grow to care about her over the course of the game, and you genuinely want to help her however you can in the storyline of her rescue.

                          And that storyline...

Without spoiling anything it's vastly different to BioShock. It becomes completely preposterous and flat-out insane at times. But it's 1000x better presented and told than 99% of other video games, and the ending is Memento-level amazing. It completely turns the game on it's head and it makes you immediately want to play through the game again with the new knowledge you know to see if you notice anything new. And trust me. You will.

9.6/10 right now. If the DLC manages to explore the themes of Columbia in more depth or give more details to it's inhabitants/world, it might be even higher. Get it now if you haven't already, you definitely won't regret it.

In a horror story, the victim keeps asking "Why?", but there cannot be any explanation. The unanswered mystery is the one that stays with us the longest, and it's what we'll remember in the end.

Dirt Showdown is great. Was enjoying the Joyride mode yesterday - made all 150 tricks pretty-easily (with some exceptions, of course). Looks like I should play racing games after finishing a few shooters/action games just for a change

Still playing me some Simcity. Got a few cities past 400k population now.

Still haven't made a successful casino city (they all get stuck at ~200k population, and the tourists bug out, and then they go bankrupt).
